Users need the ability to specify Revenue Category when adding planned gifts as revenue
Currently, CRM users are unable to specify Revenue Category when adding a planned gift as revenue. Revenue Category is often used to determine the GL distribution that should be associated with revenue records. Without the ability to enter the Revenue Category when first adding a planned gift as revenue, users must allow unmapped transactions to be entered, or enter a default value to use when the Revenue Category is not specified. After the record is created, users can then edit the record and enter the desired Revenue Category, which will also update the GL distribution on the transaction. This workaround is cumbersome and opens the door for data entry errors, as users may not remember to edit the revenue record after it is created.
Our users also need the ability to specify Revenue Category to a donor challenge claim record with the same reasoningas above. At the moment we cannot even apply a payment to it because revenue category is a required field as it is mapped in the GL account.
