we have a couple of membership types where it would be useful to allow an individual to make a gift of membership to another individual who does not live in their household.  Currently a membership can only be assigned to the individual who purchased it.  For our lifelong learning institute, this would be particularly helpful, as the membership drives the entire registration process.
