In 4.0, when in the Assign Seats window, a user is not able to sort by Name.  The system first sorts by Host, and then by Name.  This apparently is an intentional thing in order to keep guests and hosts together, but there are other ways of doing this already (sort by Host, or run the report that shows guests who are not seated with their hosts).  It would be really useful to either be able to sort by name, or have a search functionality in the Assign Seats window.
