We often have supporters who interact with us in multiple different ways on the same date but might choose different consent options on each occasion but we can only add one of those consents currently and requires an outside BBCRM process to decide which of the consents was given later so is the one that wants to be added to the record.
This would also be useful when a user adds the wrong solicit codes and it needs correcting, you would then have to use a different day for the correction which adds confusion.

Solicit Codes were intentionally designed this way in order to be able to track using start and end dates. Specialized Solicit Codes associated with Opt-in/Opt-out functionality will automatically set end/start dates to prevent overlap and provide audit capabilities for compliance with data protection requirements. Where a supporter indicates the same consent preference on the same date via various interactions, this is valid as a duplicate, therefore CRM treats it correctly and flags for review.
