Retain Former Group/Committee Member Info if Constituent is Added again as a new/current Member later on

Currently, if former group or committee member (End Date in the past) rejoins the group at a later date after a period of time where they were not affiliated with the group/committee, the previous historical member data is lost (date information, roles, etc.)

So long as the dates don't overlap, my organization would like groups/committees to allow the same individual to appear as a former member, indicating/retaining their first stint as a group member/committee member, AND that same person to appear as current members indicating a second, non-consecutive time as a member of the group/committee with a period where they were not a member in between those dates.

This has been the desired functionality at multiple organizations where I've worked who utilized Blackbaud CRM. I believe it is one of the reasons these orgs don't utilize groups to their full potential. Adding this would provide more flexibilty and allow group membership data entry to service how end-users think about group memberships. See previous idea logged in 2016: allow constituents to be added to committees multiple times
