Ability to add end dates in the future for constituent contact information (address, email, etc.)
Currently when you try to add an end date for a date in the future you can an error message that says "The end date cannot be greater than today." You should be able to add end date in the future to keep data clean and prevent from sending to an address of a constituent who has moved. If a donor lets you know that their information is changing in the future you should be able to add that into CRM, including when the new address will start and when the other one will be old.
Our users would also like to see this capability on group/committee memberships.
I agree future start/end dates on contact information should be an option in CRM. We will get notices from constituents stating a future change in contact information, and we are unable update it until the day of due to this constraint.
Our users continue to ask for this.
By not allowing end dates on phone numbers and emails the business users receive errors/exception in a constituent batch.
We also need the ability to add end dates for primary contact information. This causes exceptions in a constituent update batch which causes the business user to have to manually uncheck the “Update household phone/email/address box" when spouse share contact information.
This really needs to be something that should be planned. This is a very common thing, and right now all we can do is have a staff member add a notification on their calendar and hope that we remember to add it.
