Prior to 4.0 Service Pack 11 redirects where a 302 redirect that we could use for redirects where the new page may change. However, with Service Pack 11 everything is changed to a 301 redirect that will cause search engines and browsers to cache the URL instead of looking for a possible new url for that redirect.
