New Event Registration form should provide an alert if the user does not add the email field - this prevents the Acknowledgement email from sending.

When using the new event registration form, users have the ability to exclude email when registering for an event. If you chose to exclude the email field the Acknowledgement email does not send. It would be helpful if users are provided an alert that states that the Acknowledgement email will not send without the email field to avoid confusion for the users.
