When splitting a stock donation to apply to multiple transactions, it become impossible to apply the correct number of units (and median price) to correspond to each transaction. For example, 5 shares of stock valued at $311.80 was donated to pay for $100 and $125 event registrations with the balance, $86.80, to be applied to donations. Manipulating both the number of shares and median the share prices were $99.99 and $124.99, with a donation of $86.82. The sum of the donation was $311.80, however, the event registrations had a $.01 balance.
