Enable the consolidation of multiple commitments to a single payment by constituent for payments other than pledge & recurring gift payments
In order to record individual payments with all the required data we often have to separate them onto separate lines within payment batches. Where the paymetn type is credit card, the EFT process runs this a separate payments, meaning that the charity (and sometimes the donor) is charged a fee per transaction, when in reality it should be processed as one payment. The consolidate payments per constituent option is available for pledges and recurring gifts but not for one-off payments. With the current situation, multiple receipts are generated where there should only be one.
Actually this would even help if there were payments being applied to recurring gift on request from donor along with additional donation being made to current appeals where the appeals are different and need to be captured.
This is also an issue for Plan Canada for very similar reasons as stated above.
