Currently BBEC handles male, female and unknown genders. Oxford-English Dictionary is scheduled to add "Mx." as a new title. We can easily add in new titles but the gender field is hard coded in BBEC. Our organization is increasingly getting requests for gender neutral addressing and we would like this added to the system ASAP.

Australian University guidelines are changing to require them to recognise “other” as a third gender option. See the following reference:

To clarify, we need the ability to update the gender table which is currently hard coded to only allow male, female and unknown. Mx is actually a new title that Oxford-English Dictionary will be adding to help with gender neutral addressing. We can add in the title but would like to be able to add in different genders. (Other, transgender, etc)
