The Events tab on a constituent record can show two registrations for the same event if a guest or other constituent was included when adding the registrations on the event.
You can add a registration for an event, and that registrant can have guests or other registrants who choose a different option. For example, the initial registrant could register as Host, and have other registrants that register as Guest of his. Having another registrant with a different registration option causes the guests/other registrants to show as additional registrations for the Host/initial registrant.
