Blackbaud choose to use Excel knowing that IDs, zip codes and other numbers may contain leading zeros.  It would have been nice if they would have taken this into consideration and provided a seamless solution to their customers.  

There is a work around for this issue but it requires additional steps in an already time consuming process.  When exporting to csv the leading zeros in Lookup IDs, zip codes and other number fields are dropped.  We need to use the file in the csv format so exporting in a different format is not an option.
