Support for PayPal and Venmo as first class Payment Methods is available in Blackbaud Internet Solutions with the release of Service Pack 35 Hot Fix 1 released 8th January 2024.

Support for PayPal and Venmo as Payment Methods will be available in Blackbaud CRM with the release of Service Pack 35 and for the following Revenue and Application types:

Donation, Pledge Payment, Recurring Gift Payment, Event registrations, Membership Dues, Grant Award, Matching Gift Claim, Auction Purchase, Donor Challenge Claim and Other

• PayPal and Venmo are not available as Payment Method types for Treasury Office Deposits or Miscellaneous Payments.

These Payment Methods are available in one-off Payment Forms, Enhanced Revenue, Membership Dues and Revenue update batch types.

General Ledger mappings have been updated to permit posting for revenue of the above types using PayPal and Venmo as Payment Methods.

Note: PayPal/Venmo transactional processing will be undertaken via the Vendor portals and not within Blackbaud CRM.

Blackbaud Internet Solutions will not have the ability to take transactions using PayPal and Venmo as part of this release as we are still in the design phase and cannot advise a deliverable date at this time.

With the Discovery sessions soon to be underway for PayPal and Venmo payment methods support in BBIS and BBCRM, Blackbaud Product Management continues our evaluation to ensure that we can deliver the most valuable outcomes. We highly appreciate your input to ensure we fully understand our customer needs. The Blackbaud CRM product management team is actively evaluating approaches for supporting Paypal/Venmo payment methods. This evaluation period will extend through the end of July.

Yeah, sure would be nice to have this as an option. Lots of votes too. But 6 years have gone by :)

I asked a question about the actual timing of this on the product roadmap call earlier today and got sent a link to this idea. Note the idea was posted in 2015 and is now 6 years old. I deem that almost funny, almost.

It would be great to have PayPal and Venmo as payment options on our BBIS forms.

Please also include Venmo as a payment option with BBIS/BBCRM digital wallet as well!

Please make this a priority. Our fundraisers have been asking for this option for several years now.

Please, please make this available as an out-of-the-box option! Especially with the new checkout forms for which your are already planning to incorporate various wallet solutions.  We get asked about PayPal because it is such a widely used payment method.  We are investigating a customization, however it wouldn't allow us to use the new forms you are creating :-(   Beautiful streamlined checkout plus a PayPal option...that would be a huge win!

Similar to comments from other clients, we've received inquiries from donors who are accustomed to having this option at checkout.  We appear to be behind the times in not offering PayPal.

With the hurricane Harvey disaster we're really getting a lot of pressure to make donation via PayPal available.
