We utilize a clustered SQL Server setup at the foundation which requires that any package changes be propagated to two separate locations on the file system. In addition we have a separate financial data warehouse where we use SSIS packages that are deployed to the Integration Services Catalog (SSISDB). I realize the catalog is a relatively new approach but I suggest that CRM migrate its packages to the catalog. This greatly reduces administration burden to the DBA as well as management of permissions, etc.
