I found that the export definition is extremely limited in the amount of fields that it allows you to filter. For example, we would want to filter off of appeals and do that on a constituent based export definition, but you can't do that in the export definition. So my idea is to replace export definition with a wizard that comes off of query that allows you to drag and drop the fields from your query onto the design of your export or report and the items derives from that query pane.
