Make it possible to copy text in fields without first having to click into them to make them active - e.g., alternative Lookup IDs

I often cross check against a separate database using an alternative Lookup ID to the one in DARS.

Currently one has to click into the field... wait.... navigate to the second field and select the whole text...copy and then paste into the separate database.

I want to be able to just select text on the page and copy it without clicking in the field first.

Because the data is held in a form there is no way to select the data it contains without first activating the field. This cannot be changed. However, depending on the source of the data you wish to copy you may be able to utilise F3 on your browser (or Ctl+F) to find the data and then Ctl+C to copy. F3 will only add today's date if the user is in a date field.

Hmm, F3 on DARs enters today's date?
