We would like a place where users can select what alerts they'd like to receive. Furthermore, having a way to better populate the list of subscribers from an administration view would be very helpful. Most of our alerts are specific to a prospect manager and the only way to do that with a custom alert is to create a separate instance and then define the recipient for each person. This is over 250 manual adds (two forms) that have to happen in our case just for one alert. The OOB alerts can be loaded with an ad-hoc query.
Additionally, all of these alerts have to be maintained individually by the administrator user. I'd like to be able to globally populate the initial subscribers and then allow the subscribers to manage their own notifications for specific alerts that we allow them opt-out/into.
