Add a Recurring Gift Cancellation process - similar to Sponsorship cancellation, where a reason must be provided
Please add a cancellation process to recurring gift records, so when a constituent wants to cancel their recurring gift a reason why must be entered. This should be similar to the Sponsorship cancellation process.
At present we can only change the status to Completed - which only has meaning if the recurring gift has an end date which many don't because it is an ongoing commitment; or Terminated - which would reflect an action by the organisation to end a recurring gift with outstanding payments.
A status of Cancelled implies a request by the constituent - and a reason why it was cancelled would help us report why it was cancelled.
When a Recurring Gift has it's status manually changed, a reason is required. When the change is made via the Update Recurring Gift Status business process, reason is recorded as "Changed by Status Update process". Both are shown on the Details column of the Recurring Gift Activity tab.
Isn't it already the case that a Reason must be given when cancelling a recurring gift? Under what circumstances is it not the case?
