If/Then/Else Logic for Name Format Options
It would be extremely helpful to allow if-then-else logic to structure names. For example, consider two constituents:
Nickname: Jessie
First Name: Jessica
Last Name: Jones
Nickname: [NULL]
First Name: Robert
Last Name: Sullivan
make a name that is
[nickname if not null, else first name] last name:
Jessie Jones
Robert Sullivan
Current logic lets you skip a name if its null, but doesn't you say "take this name first, but if it's blank, then use this one, but don't use both".

Hello, please note that Blackbaud Pacific has developed a Name Format Global Change, which would allow you to set a Name Format for all records in a query. This may be scheduled, and run in conjunction with multiple instance of this Global Change to provide more dynamic options. It is often used in the Asia-Pacific market to address non-Western names. Not exactly the same, but UCL finds CRM joint name functionality poor. If we include suffix in our joint addressee name, which we have to (e.g Mr John Jones MD & Ms Jane Jones MD), then we cannot make the 'and' in the middle conditional, as it drops off where the primary household member doesn't have a suffix (thus; Mr John Smith Mrs Jane Smith- with no 'and'). To use joint names, we have to leave the 'and' as non-conditional then strip off the trailing 'and' on any singletons ("Mr Bob Jones and") for all extracts for event invites, marketing efforts etc. Most annoying.
