Add Alias type of Maiden name
When the maiden name is automatically added as an Alias, add the type of Maiden name. This will save time, we have to go personal and manually add the type.

There should be a configuration option to select what type of alias is automatically applied when the maiden name field is populated on the edit constituent form and the alias added.
I agree, having it as a blank alias type is really not helpful. This also causes problems when trying to review data issues, looking for people with a blank type (to deal with a flaw that was fixed in a service pack) you are given the ones who are there with a maiden name but no type.
