Ability to define the channel for a Communications process, particularly for General Correspondence

We are currently on version 2.94.1524, software revision 109)I.  It is not currently possible to define the channel for a communication process.  We particularly want to do this for General Correspondence.  We are using General Correspondence processes to flag donors to receive thank you calls from students.  These are showing as "Mail" on the Communications page, and there is no way to change that, at least not that I am aware of.  This would be very helpful, as the page is currently misrepresenting the type of communication being made with the donor.  Thank you.

Using Constituent interactions is the most appropriate approach to this type of requirement as it uses a table for Contact method. It also has a Global Change process available in order to allocate an owner. As a result we will not be changing how General Correspondence is implemented.
