Allow Group and Committee Members to have a start date in the future

Our organization would like the ability to add members to a committee or group with a start date in the future to reflect, for example, a newly appointed/elected board member who is set to start next month. The ability to add the individual to the committee ahead of time would allow us to get ahead of schedule and would prevent any potential problems that might come from forgetting to add the member on the actual start date.

We have had this request from multiple users as well. It seems like a relatively low lift as well.

We also see this as a pain point, especially when we need to add our incoming Board & Committee roles to be able to communicate with them on the on-set of the new year/cycle. Our current work around leave gaps, as it's a custom flag on a staff member email. If that team member leaves, the potential of that update getting lost is greater.

We run into this with Reunions. Usually the Reunion committee is determined a year out and we used to be able to calendar year start and end dates at any time - 1/1/2020-12/31/2020.  Now we have to use the date of entry.

We struggle with this as well. I can see both sides, but when preparing for the next years group of committee members, being able to code that information into the system as people respond would be ideal.

This is a feature that is needed in the committee area. Many times we receive updated lists, which may not take effect until the next month and we are unable to update the list due to the start date constraints.

Yes. We struggle with this same issue. It seems sort of arbitrary that some of these kinds of relationships can be future end dated (e.g. constituencies) and others can't.
