Sometimes you can have an event take place over a course of time, but it is truly one event. For example, an event that happens every Wed for a month. Right now workarounds are to

1) create the same event with the same registrant multiple times - which can lead to serious administrative add time and human error when registering people over and over

or

2) we have to have a start date of the first Wed and end date of the last Wednesday and then it looks like the event took place every single day for a month. 

If you were to add something like the repeat option like they have in Google calendar or a recurrence option like they have in outlook, it would be very beneficial.
