The end-user experience is always better with this feature on. However, there are always folks who are going to forward their emails to others, and with on-line privacy concerns what they are these days, we have had a number of donors flip when their data auto-populates for someone else. Is there a way to have a pop-up box confirm the identify of the end-user and either clear the fields for a different individual, or maintain the data upon confirmation. This could be set up when the box to allow auto-fill has been checked.
"If a recipient forwards a query-based email and someone else follows a link from the email message to a web form, the original recipient's biographical details auto-fill on the form" - this does not protect the original recipients privacy.
Some emails will be forwarded, therefore, as the data controller we need to take action to avoid compromising our constituents. The forwarding process with the original recipient's data is not best practice.
Ideal scenario is to have the forms populate with the original recipient's details (as necessary) but remain blank upon forwarding. Also, perhaps a function that gives BBIS system administrator ability to isolate auto-filling by form/message type.
We have had issues with the clear form function and would love to see a proper "Forward to a friend" link that strips the auto-fill. It's pretty standard in almost every other email marketing platform.
a new BBIS function to forward the email is also useful. Forwarding through a BBIS page then strips the autofill.
Thanks Julie for this idea. We have a "Not Julie Stone? Click here to clear" function planned for new forms later this year, and are working with our security team if there is more we can do that doesn't put the honus on the user.
