Make merge fields available in subject line of an email

Recent test proved a significant increase of the opening rate of emails when these are highly personalized, for example with constituents name in the subject line. But you can also think of information about their last gift or support.

HI Sean, No, this is for Email Messages only, as the data for the merge fields pulls from the CRM Constituent record. For Acknowledgements, the constituent may not yet be created in CRM until the Batch is processed.

Hi Nicola, will this work on donation form email acknowledgements in SP33?

We are pleased to announce that subject merge fields are coming in the Service Pack 33 release. Theses will be available for email messages using the Constituent type email list only. Merge fields will be – First Name, Last Name, Nickname, Title, Class Of, City and State.

If any of the merge fields do not have a value, then an alternate subject line text will be utilized.

Yes, please include merge fields for all aspects of the email message. That is the sender email, sender name, subject line as well. Whilst we are on the topic of merge fields, we should be heading towards dynamic content such as liquid template language. Thanks, Jess.
