Allow Filtering by Date Range - Add the 'Between' filter operator to date fields, as in queries

We use filtered custom tabs quite a bit, they allow you to really customize the presentation of your data.

However, when you set up filtering for a date field in a Data List, there is not currently a 'Between' date filter operator to allow you to search over a date range.

It would be tremendously beneficial to our organization to allow us to filter a particular tab by date range using the 'Between' date filter, as you can when creating a query or a data list.

This would still be extraordinarily helpful to us if Blackbaud were to implement it in a release. While there is a workaround that Blackbaud has recommended to us in the past, it is quite buggy. The workaround is to pull the same date field into your data list results multiple times - for example, once as a visible field for 'pledge date', and then twice as hidden fields - one for 'Date Range 1' and a second for 'Date Range 2' - then you put the filtering on as Data Range 1 is 'on or after' a specified date, and Date Range 2 is 'on or before' another specified date.

The problem is that when you do this, every time you edit the data list and save any changes, the workaround breaks unless you manually fix it before saving - it remembers your filter operator settings, but all 3 instances of the date field wind up being switched to the same variation on visible or hidden. The bug used to be worse, Blackbaud fixed the part where you used to also lose your filter operator settings every time you edited the data list, but it is still both frustrating and the custom tab where you use this workaround loses credibility with end users.

While they could fix the part of the workaround that is still broken, it would be much more helpful if they would just offer the 'between' function that they offer in queries as a filter operator in data lists.

We have reviewed this item, and will consider it for future inclusion in an upcoming release.

As shown in the screenshots below, the query portion of a Data List allows you to specify a date range 'Between' 2 dates, but when setting up filtering for a custom tab, the 'Between' filter operator is not offered.
