Constituents will often notify us when they're planning on moving. At the moment of receiving the information, we'd like to enter the information (and date) into the database and give a future start date for the new address AND we'd like to give a future end date on what's actually the current address. This way we don't see things like the attached.
We'd also love to be able to end date an address, phone or email we know is no good without having to add an updated contact as well. Sometimes you just know an address, phone etc is no longer valid but you don't have updated information to take its place.

Absolutely. It is silly to have to make myself a reminder to end-date an address at a future time when I already know that it's going to end date. If there are sites out there that don't want to be able to do that, you could always make it a setting: give the option to choose whether to allow a future end date for contact information. The fact that there are so many requests out there for this feature should make it clear that it is needed.
