BB has a policy for rotating SQL Server passwords to clients' CRM read-only database instances. This is done every 60 days in the early morning hours. When this happens, an administrator has to manually change the password within each application that needs access to the Cloud database. Our organization has created an Azure Key Vault (AKV) to store the connection strings for each environment (dev, staging, production). By building an integration to directly write to our AKV (or any other clients' vault), it avoids all clients' manual intervention to change the passwords and any potential account locks and application outages.
